ENGLISH VOCABULARY UNITS 1-2
Peer:one who is the equal of another in abilities or social status.
Tool:an instrument for some purpose or work.
Threaten;to make a statement or promise that one will punish or harm.
Sidebar:a short news feature or story, as in a newspaper, that appears alongside a longer story and adds to it.
Set up:an act or instance of setting up or getting ready.
Disrupt:to cause disorder or turmoil in.
Available:suitable or ready for use.
Development:the act or process of developing;growth; progress.
Device: a thing made for a particular purpose, esp. a mechanical or electric invention.
Tasks:a piece of work assigned to a person.
Littering:objects strewn or scattered about.
Complain:to express dissatisfaction, resentment, pain, grief, etc.;find fault.
Apologise:to make an apology.
Get on well:to receive or come to have possession, use, or enjoyment of.
Dubbing:the conferring of knighthood;accolade.
Embarrased:to (cause to) become ashamed, uncomfortable, or ill at ease.
Disappointed:related to or marked by disappointment.
Jokes:a short, humorous story with a word or phrase that ends it and causes laughter.
Foreigners:a person not native to or naturalized in the country or jurisdiction under consideration.
Humble:not proud or arrogant.
Barn:a building for storing hay and grain, and often for keeping animals.
Yawn:to open the mouth, usually involuntarily, and breathe in deeply, sometimes with a sighing sound and a large breath out, often caused by drowsiness or boredom.
Stamp:to strike with a forceful, strong, downward movement or push of the foot.
