He's the life and soul of the party: A person who is lively, good and entertaining at mixing with people. 

He's an awkward customer: A person, group or thing that causes problem, usually because they won't behave properly. Hard to deal with.

He's a high-flyer: A person who has the desire and the ability to be very successful in their job or studies.
